Whale-Watching off Cape Cod

C suggested we go watch whales, and so today we did. It was one of the funnest things I've done in a while. You can even hear our guide, a marine biologist, commenting on the aerodynamics of the whale's flippers! I also have videos of a mother and baby whale swimming side by side, but I couldn't get those to post to YouTube yet. Soon!

  1. Oooooooh,

Some years back i spent a summer in Falmouth doing the summer stock theater there (College Light Opera Company). Enjoy your time up there ;-)

  2. T'was fun. Did you enjoy Falmouth? Did you get to Woods Hole or the Vinyard at all?

  3. Wow, I literally just sailed away from New England! We were in Mystic, New London, Plymouth, and Boston. Your poem post made me nostalgic actually; I used to sail out of Provincetown every summer with the Kalmar Nyckel, and the one big disadvantage of working aboard the Amistad is that I can't do that. Every year I would walk out one morning just before dawn to the very end of Race Point to watch the sun come up, an experience that is best described as Sublime, with a capital S. I miss that. On the other hand, I'm working aboard the Amistad, which is awesome. Some of the crew spotted whales on our recent sail from Boston to Nova Scotia (my current location) but of course any time I climbed aloft they vanished. Glad you got to see some! Enjoy New England!
